After Pakistan, China has created a dispute at the border with India as if it is part of a "mission", Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday as Indian and Chinese troops remain locked in a standoff in eastern Ladakh.
The Defence Minister was speaking at an online event after inaugurating 44 bridges in the western sector and Himalayan region.
"You are well aware of the conditions created along our northern and eastern borders. First it was Pakistan, and now it is China, it's as if a border dispute is being created under a mission. We have a 7,000-km border with these countries where tension continues," Rajnath said.
The 44 bridges have been built in strategic areas. Constructed by the Border Roads Organisation, a body under the Ministry of Defence, a majority of these bridges are expected to significantly improve the movement of troops in areas along the border with China.
