New Delhi, March 24

Along with a job for every family, gas cylinders for BPL households and free laptops for high school students, the BJP also promised legislations to protect "traditions" of Sabarimala temple and end 'love jihad' or forcible religious conversions on the pretext of marriage in poll-bound Kerala.

The proposals are part of the manifesto for the Assembly elections unveiled in Thiruvananthapuram today. The manifesto also assures housing, drinking water and power supply for all, minimum wages across sectors, ex gratia of Rs 5,000 per month to every family where the sole breadwinner falls sick/unable to work. It also promised hike in monthly welfare pension.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "The BJP manifesto is progressive, dynamic and development-oriented and Kerala was awaiting such a manifesto."
