Active infections in the country went beyond 1.5 lakh for the first time after four days today, while the number of daily fresh cases rose to the highest since January 29.

Most new cases from 7 states
Data show 89.57% of the new cases are from seven states, including Punjab
Cabinet Secretary Rajeev Gauba held a review meeting with the chief secretaries and principal health secretaries of seven states, including Punjab, that are contributing hugely to daily infection spike.
The 24-hour new infections across the country were 18,855 on January 29. Since then, the country saw the highest daily case count of 16,738 today.
"India's active caseload is 1,51,708 today — 1.37 per cent of the total positive cases," sources said. — TNS
