New Delhi, September 2

India today banned 118 more Chinese apps, including popular mobile game PUBG.

Other apps banned by the Information Technology Ministry include CamCard, Baidu, Cut Cut, VooV, Tencent Weiyun, Rise of Kingdoms, Zakzak and Beauty Camera Plus.

With this move, India has so far banned 224 apps having Chinese stake.

The ministry issued an identical statement as the one issued after the Galwan Valley clashes in June, invoking Section 69A of the IT Act that permits blocking in case the apps are a security threat.

Most of these apps were also flagged by the Home Ministry's Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre and parliamentarians.
