With record 36,145 recoveries and 48,661 fresh cases in 24 hours, the Covid cases crossed the 13.85-lakh mark today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 'Mann Ki Baat' today said the Covid war was "far from over". He will launch three Covid facilities with testing capacity of 10,000 samples a day tomorrow. With focus now on testing and treating, the new facilities will aid early detection and treatment, helping control the pandemic.

"These testing facilities have been set up strategically at the ICMR's National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research in Noida, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health in Mumbai and National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases in Kolkata. These labs will also reduce the turnaround time and exposure of lab personnel to infectious clinical materials," the Health Ministry said. The CMs of Maharashtra, West Bengal and UP will participate in the event.
Out of the total disease load of 13,85,522, the total number of recovered cases have grown to 8,85,576. The recovery rate is now 63.92%. For the first time, a record number of 4,42,263 tests was conducted in a single day.
