The Delhi Government today sought an aid of Rs 5,000 crore from the centre to pay salaries to its staff.
Deputy CM and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia has written a letter to the Union Finance Minister in this regard. Addressing a digital press conference, he highlighted how the lockdown has impacted the country’s economy and also that of Delhi. “We have reviewed Delhi Government’s minimum expenses. We will need around Rs 3,500 crore every month to pay salaries to our staff and meet office expenses,” he said. — TNS
